Basketball court flooring
End-to-end basketball court construction + painting
We design, surface and line-mark basketball courts to FIBA standards, indoors and outdoors, with Acrylic and PU systems, installed by professional crews with more than 20 years of experience.
A good basketball floor is resilient and slip resistant
A basketball court built to standard needs a surface with the right grip, slip resistance and impact absorption for running and jumping, to reduce injuries. DMH Sport Floor designs and installs basketball court flooring end to end, from base preparation and coating to FIBA line marking, for indoor and outdoor courts at schools, universities and commercial venues.

Acrylic Hardcourt
A hard acrylic surface that stands up to sun and rain and resists slipping. Suited to outdoor basketball courts on a budget.
PU / Acrylic Cushion
A highly resilient surface that absorbs impact and is easier on the knees. Suited to indoor and competition courts.
FIBA line marking
Basketball lines marked to the rules and standard dimensions, with crisp lines and well-bonded paint.
Which paint should you use on a basketball court?
Basketball court paint comes in two main systems, chosen by whether the court is indoors or outdoors, how often it is used and how much cushioning you want.
Acrylic paint for outdoor basketball courts
Water-based acrylic paint mixed with anti-slip sand, applied in several coats over concrete or asphalt. It stands up to sun and rain, gives an even ball bounce and is easy to recoat when the color starts to age, and suits basketball courts at schools, communities and housing estates. For a softer surface, choose Acrylic Cushion paint, which adds rubber cushion layers under the color coats. Details: Acrylic sports court paint
PU paint for indoor basketball courts
A seamless, resilient polyurethane surface that absorbs impact on jumps and landings and reduces the load on knees and ankles. Suited to gyms and multi-purpose halls, and usable outdoors with a UV-resistant topcoat. Read more: PU sports court paint
Popular basketball court colors
The playing area is usually green or blue. The restricted area under the basket (often called the three-second area or the paint) must be one color throughout, usually brick red, orange or dark blue to contrast with the court. If the center circle is painted, it must be the same color as the restricted areas, and the area outside the boundary lines uses another color to mark it clearly. All court lines are white and 5 cm wide under FIBA rules.
Basketball court painting steps
- Check the base and its moisture level, then clean it
- Repair cracks, level the surface and apply the primer
- Apply the resurfacer, plus the rubber cushion layers if you choose a cushion system
- Apply the color coats to an even, full color
- Mark the lines to standard basketball court dimensions, then inspect and hand over
